Venice Runs Away?

I had "words" with Venice and asked her to sit on the bench in the garage until she was calmer and ready to talk with me (we were coming in from the car). I came into the house with Xander. A few minutes later, Venice came into the house and said that she was going to wait somewhere else. I said ok, figuring she meant her room or the bonud room. Several more minutes later, she came into the house crying. I asked her what was wrong.

She told me that she left the house, went down the street, got lost, then came back (all while I was playing with Xander). After we talked for a while, I kept my cool, told her I was glad she came back, safe, etc. We hugged and things seemed to be getting better. Then she started to cry again. I askd her what was wrong and she then proceeded to tell me she made it all up, that she really didn't run away, but just hid in the garage and waited for me to miss her and get worried.

Two emotions went through me. One, I felt bad that i didn't even notice, as I thought she was just in her room... but then, two, how do I keep my cool in light of her lying to me! Oy.... I'm definitely going to have to keep my eye on her!
