My Eyes Water

I read Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, by William Steig, to Xander. When I got to the point where Sylvester turns back into a donkey and he and his parents are celebrating with hugs, Xander says to me, "This makes my eyes water." I asked him if he was happy or sad. He replied, "It just makes my eyes water. We read this in class too." I ask, "Did your eyes water then too?" "Yes," he says.

A few days later, we try watching The Tales of Despereaux together. When the mouse is in the "gladiator" ring and cornered by the cat, Xander looked to me and said, "Can we go downstairs, this is making my eyes water."

Too cute.
