Sickle Pit

Venice has a joy for singing. She loves to sing along to the CDs I play in the car. One song was playing, and I really wasn't paying attention, when she asked, "Mommy. What does 'into the sickle pit' mean?" I listened to the song. Ah ha. I answered, "They're saying, 'into the thick of it'." I told her what it meant, but she wasn't impressed with my explanation and continues to sing, "into the sickle pit!" with pure merriment.

Venice loves Xander

Well, sometimes. She has taken to saying, "I don't like my brother," these days and always wants him to take a nap so she can have us all to herself. Understandable. However, today, in the car, she said, "I only like my brother on days we have parties or holidays." We went to the park today, no friends joined us, it was just Venice, Xander and me. When no one was looking, Venice played with Xander. She helped led him to the stairs, she held his hand while going down the slides together, and she helped him when he needed it.

Jumping

I bought the kids a new tumbling mat and Xander tried it out last night. He started jumping on it and actually caught air... two feet left the ground! Yippee!

I love you

So, Xander can now say, "I love you." The family was saying, "I love you," the other day and Xander busted out with, "Wu boo". Too cute.

Venice loves to say it too. She will say, "I have a question." And when she has your attention, she'll say, "I love you." Today, she told me that she was so excited to see Granny and Jiichan tomorrow. She said she looooooves them so much. I asked what she liked about them and she replied, "I love Jiichan because he tickles me. And I love Granny because she is a crafty person."
