Xander - more

A few stories I forgot. Last month (January) happenings: Understanding the word hot? He looks to the fireplace and says, "Hot!" he touched the oven and said, "Hot." When Granny and Jiichan said goodbye, he went over to the shoe bin to get his shoes. He holds the bubble blower and says, "Bu bu." When Granny gave him a cracker, he took it from her, walked over to the tiny table and set it down, then picked it up to eat. This is where I've been feeding him, so he had to do it the "right" way and show Granny too.

Ok, now I'm caught up, I think.

Venice in February

Venice has been so much fun to watch lately. She is super creative and outgoing. She likes to make up songs and put on shows for Daddy (she stands on the couch while singing and dancing, or acting out a show). She says she wants to be on a "REAL" stage someday. She loves to help us cook in the kitchen and is facinated by the knives. She keeps asking to use them and saying, "Someday I'll be big enough to use the knives."

She told me the other day, "Mommy, I'm the happiest girl in the world because I'm with you." She told Chris the other day, "I love you Daddy because you tickle me." Melt my heart!

Other things she's doing: being very brave at doctor visits, climbing really well at the playgrounds, and being nice (and sometimes torturing) her little brother.

Xander in February

I have notes here on Xander and I don't think I've added them yet. If so, sorry for the duplicates. So, Xander blew my mind today. He was in the kitchen and, well, broke wind. It sounded like a little bit more, so I asked him, "Xander, did you go poo poo?" He looked me right in the eye and said, "Poo!" He left the kitchen, went to the bathroom, opened the drawer and got out a diaper, and then brought it to me. Crazy smart! He still didn't like me changing his diaper, it was a wrestling match, however, at least he knew it was coming!

Some things he's been doing for a while, but still loving it: blowing spit bubbles, splashing in the bath, throwing and bouncing balls, clearly saying, "Wawa", for water, opening our house doors (french handles) and touching your nose when you ask, "Where is my nose?" And today he said, "Toe" while holding onto his toes.

Cool.
