Dec Updates

Today I turned around and found Xander, who had used our small step stool, standing on the rim of the bathtub, hands in the air, looking so proud of himself. Oy.

He's talking more and more. At a gathering a few days ago, another mom heard him say "steps" when I said to watch the step as he was walking. When Chris arrived at the party, he clearly said, "Dadday!" When he found me in the kitchen the other day, he said, "Mommy!" It's so great to hear him talk. He still loves to drop things on purpose and exclaim, "Uh, oh!" and now loves to put his lips together and make a trumpet noise with lots of spit. He cracks himself up.

Venice is learning new songs in school. Holiday songs. She loves to belt out, "On the first day of Christmas my troll gave to me..." Somedays she asks to marry me, other days Chris. Today, she asked again, "Can I be the next Mommy?" She wants to be the next Mommy in the family. I now just say, "Yes" as one time I offered an explanation of, "someday you'll fall in love with someone and want to spend the rest of your life with them and your own family in your own house." She later said to Chris, "Mommy said I can't live here anymore." Ouch.

Holiday Updates

Here are a few updates about Venice:

* Loves to play on the computer. Calliou or Dora are the best (gives Mommy a nice break).
* Still not sure where she gets all her energy. Wondering if we can find an indoor habitrail for her.
* Today she taught Mommy a song that she learned in school.
* Still wants to be a teacher when she grows up.
* Still not sure if Santa should be allowed into our house on Xmas eve.
* Signs her name "Venice" very well. Learning how to sign her full name.
* Loves it when Mommy or Daddy read to her. Sometimes wanting to read to us.
* Has fun helping out in the kitchen, really wanting to use knives.
* Definitely potty trained and can dress herself.

Holiday Updates

Here are a few updates of little Xander:

* No longer walking. Full on running.
* Climbing every day is a must. Note to self: Do NOT leave out step ladders.
* We swear he's talking. What does a cow say? Xander replies, "boo boo". This week it's starting to be more of a "moo moo". He loves to drop something and say, "Uh, oh" and chant "Da deh" all day long. If I point to myself and say, "Mama", he will repeat it as well.
* Very interested in lights, fans and clocks. Often pointing and saying "Ooooooh".
* Will wave, when he's in the mood, to say bye bye or night night.
* Sometimes crawls onto his bed when he's tired and ready to take his nap.
* Got wet in the rain today for the first time, he thought it was pretty funny.
