Rainy Outing

The kids were fabulous on this rainy river afternoon. Once out there, with the river and rocks, they were totally engaged in their play. First they threw rocks, then they found a platform and began collecting rocks so they could throw them all at once. Once the geese and ducks spotted us, they traveled over quacking. Teiya loved jumping up on a stone wall to quack back!!! Venice suggested that they all be an element and fight foes. Casey was air, so we got twisting tornados, fierce wind, and whistling. Xander was fire, swoosh, volcanos, burning...hot.....Teiya was earth, quakes, rocks,dirt, rumble rumble. Venice was water, floods, oceans, whirlpools. They ran all over the place, excited and totally involved in nature. We got back to the house around 4:30, then eat eat eat....mostly rice for three of them, Casey ate crackers. Then Teiya wanted to see the Nutcracker...I found one to stream and we began watching. Teiya and Venice totally engrossed. Xander was beginning to get restless. Casey was a little bit afraid. We watched up thru the mice and the whole beginning was slightly dark. Then we saw part of the dance with Clara and the Nutcracker...nice soothing music.
