Measurements

Yesterday was the semi-annual semi-accurate measuring of height day.

Venice is 56" - she grew 1 1/4 inches since January

Casey is almost 56" (I call it 56)...he and Venice are almost equal, he is delighted, proud and happy.  He grew 1 3/4 inches

Xander is 50 inches - he grew 1 1/2 inches.  He is slightly taller than Casey was when Casey was 7 1/2.  So Xander is very proud.

Teiya tried several times to stand on her tippy toes....I caught her each time.  She was laughing as she did this.  She is 47 3/4 inches.  Almost 4 feet tall....She grew 1 inch.

Heights

As you may remember, I am measuring the kids every now and then....here is the latest.

These are rough in two ways. I am not sure that the kids were standing the same way and that I had marked their height appropriately.
Second, when I measured the heights and the distances between them, I was using slightly crude methods. So the overall effect is right, but the exactness is not......

Casey, was disappointed that he had grown so little....everyone else seemed happy with their results.

AGE 2:


Fav song to sing: ABCs, sometimes DOROTHY the dinosaur by The Wiggles.
Fav song to listen to: Toot Toot Chugga Chugga Big Red Car (The Wiggles)
Fav DVD to watch: Venice calls it 'ABCs', Letter
Factory by Leap Frog (from Oct thru Jan, it was Finding Nemo), also likes any Wiggles Movie (Magical Adventure)
Fav TV show: The Wiggles (sometimes Oobi, Teletubbies)
Fav character: Jeff Wiggle (because he wears purple or because he's asian?)
Fav food: Used to be Cheesey Noodles (Kraft mac and cheese) but she's branching out, likes meat on the bone (ribs, chicken) big chicken fan, still likes refried beans and guacamole. Loves salsa, especially with chips.
Fav book: Dos and Don'ts by Todd Parr
Fav color: purple can count to 10, sometimes 20 with a little help
Fav activity: likes to color, paint, built tall towers
Fav dessert: Venice calls it 'Green ice cream', mint chip. Also likes anything chocolate, and just discovered jelly beans.
Fav thing at the park: climbing all the ladders, slides and swings.
Fav backyard activity: chalk and swinging
Fav outfit: anything purple (shirts and pants, and socks)
Fav shoe: anything purple (boots and sneakers) funny traits: calls colors by the Wiggles. So instead of saying it's red, she'll say it's Murray. Not purple, but Jeff. Not yellow, but Greg. Not blue, but Anthony. Not green, but Dorothy.
Sleeping habits: normally 7:30am-7am. no naps since Jan. On occasion, after a bad night, she'll take a nap. Maybe 1-2 times a month.
Eating habits: like a bird and very particular.
Pets: cat "Little/Girlfriend" and a new beta fish, "Nemo"
Some sayings: When is the food done? Venice answers, "beep beep". Where do we get food? Venice answers, "restaurant". When we come home and it's lunchtime, Venice yells, "Daddy! Lunchtime!" When she wants something, "I want it, yes I do."
